After a three-day trial in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Monmouth County, a jury returned a defense verdict in a breach of contract action arising from a homeowners insurance claim following a house fire.< The plaintiff alleged that the defendant insurer breached the insurance contract by failing to pay more than $100,000 for cleaning air and surfaces throughout the home, despite having already paid for damage to the room where the fire occurred and immediately adjacent structures. The jury determined that the defendant had not breached the contract and awarded no damages.
