Defense Verdict in Limited Tort Case

Philadelphia partner Peter Bludman secured a defense verdict from a Philadelphia jury where the sole issue was whether the motor vehicle accident  plaintiff had sustained a “serious injury or substantial impairment of bodily function” sufficient to surmount the limited tort threshold established by 75 Pa. C.S.A. Sect. 1705.  There was no liability defense. Plaintiff contended that he sustained a fractured wrist requiring surgery.   After a three-day trial, the jury found otherwise.
