Pittsburgh partners Jen DeFlitch and Ron Reitz successfully defended a professional negligence (legal malpractice) action in which the plaintiff alleged that the defendant attorney’s handling of a prior civil rights case fell below applicable professional standards and caused the dismissal of that underlying lawsuit brought on behalf of the plaintiff’s son.
After the defendant served Requests for Admission, the plaintiff failed to respond. The defendant subsequently filed a Motion to Compel and to Deem the Requests for Admission admitted. Following that filing, the plaintiff voluntarily executed a Stipulation of Dismissal, dismissing all claims with prejudice.
