Each year, the Pennsylvania Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (PAMIC) hosts the Claims Summit, a two-day event that attracts over 200 attendees and more than 30 exhibitors, including law firms, restoration companies, and other related businesses. Topics covered include litigation updates and popular claims trends.
Attorneys Barry Kronthal, Kevin Monastra, Michael McKenna, Kate Sears, and Ryan Smith presented at the Summit this year.
On April 30, 2024, partner Michael McKenna presented “Litigation Update,” an annual review of significant court cases in Pennsylvania, while partners Kevin Monastra and Ryan Smith presented “Navigating the Maze of Bad Faith Claims in Property Damage Cases.” This presentation focused on a hot topic in insurance litigation—bad faith claims.
On May 1, 2024, partner Barry Kronthal, along with associate Kate Sears, presented “Venue, Removal & Forum Non Conveniens: Escaping the Nation’s #1 Judicial Hellhole.” In their presentation, the team discussed important legal updates impacting venue choices in Philadelphia, the most challenging venue for plaintiffs’ verdicts in the country.
