Jessie Barbin

Jessie Barbin is an Associate in the firm’s Philadelphia office and concentrates her practice on the defense of businesses, property owners, and insureds in a wide range of civil litigation matters. Her experience includes premises liability, professional liability, dram shop liability, and other complex tort claims. She has represented grocery stores, property management companies, property owners and tenants, car washes, snow contractors and subcontractors, bars and liquor serving establishments, nursing homes, and other commercial entities. Her work has involved matters with exposures ranging from $10,000 to $5,000,000.

Jessie manages cases through all stages of litigation, from initial investigation through resolution. She regularly drafts pleadings, written discovery, dispositive motions, and litigation reports; conducts and defends depositions; and represents clients in settlement negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and other dispute resolution proceedings. Her broad litigation experience and practical approach enable her to effectively analyze and manage a diverse range of claims.

Prior to joining Margolis Edelstein, Jessie served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Morris G. Smith, J.A.D., where she developed extensive legal research and writing skills across a variety of practice areas. She earned her Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School, where she participated in the Domestic Violence Clinic and served on the board of the Hunter Moot Court Appellate Advocacy Program. During law school, Jessie also completed a judicial externship with the Honorable David Ragonese, J.S.C., in the Criminal Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey and interned with the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender in Salem County. She received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Philosophy and Fine Art from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
