Jocelyn Mendez concentrates her practice on representing both public and private employers in all aspects of employment law including discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge, retaliation, hostile work environment, and wage & hour disputes.

Prior to joining Margolis Edelstein, Jocelyn was Associate Legal Counsel in the Office of Governor John C. Carney in Delaware. Her practice focused on several areas of law, including corporate, education, and clemency. Additionally, she gained experience drafting Executive Orders. While Associate Legal Counsel, Jocelyn also contributed to the COVID-19 Pandemic Response effort, preparing various State of Emergency orders.

During law school, Jocelyn worked as an intern at Cigna, served as clerk to the Honorable Judge Bret Binder of the Chester County Court of Common Pleas, and interned at HELP:MLP, a medical-legal partnership at Widener University providing free civil legal services to individuals in low-income communities.

While at Widener University, Jocelyn served as both a Staff Editor and Articles Editor on the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law. She was also the President of the Black Law Students’ Association and Vice-President of the Lantinx-American Law Students’ Association. A champion for equity, Jocelyn received her law school’s inaugural Dean’s Award for the Advancement of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Jocelyn remains active in her law school community by serving on the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, and also as an alumni mentor for the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law and the Black Law Students’ Association.
