Michael T. Savitsky is a Partner and has been with the Firm since August 1999. A native of Scranton, his focus is in the areas of Workers Compensation,  Automobile Litigation and General Liability. In twenty-five years of practice he has extensive experience in representing Employers and Workers Compensation Insurance Carriers while providing counsel to Firm clients on complex Workers Compensation issues and Settlement of Claims.

Prior to joining Margolis Edelstein, Mr. Savitsky was a Partner in a local Scranton Firm which provided a full Defense practice as well as a General practice to long standing clients.

Education:

Mr. Savitsky received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Scranton in 1981, and his Juris Doctorate from the Duquesne University School of Law in 1984.

Professional Memberships and Activities:

Mr. Savitsky is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. He is a member of various Bar Groups including the Lackawanna and Luzerne County Bar Associations and the Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations. He is a past Chairman of the Lackawanna County Bar Association Civil Rules Committee.

For years Mr. Savitsky coached a local High School with regard to the Pennsylvania Bar Association Mock Trial Competition which included a State Championship, followed by a high finish in the National Championship held in New Orleans. Through the Firm Mr. Savitsky is a member of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, and he is also an Elected Township Supervisor.
