Bruce E. Barrett is a Partner in the Mount Laurel, New Jersey office of Margolis Edelstein. He began his career at Margolis Edelstein as an Associate in 1983, after completion of a one-year judicial clerkship with the New Jersey Superior Court. He became a Partner in the firm in 1989.
Mr. Barrett represents defendants in a variety of litigation matters, including employment discrimination, professional negligence and construction defect cases. He has defended consumer lending claims for a number of financial institutions, including class actions. In addition to representing clients in state and federal courts, Mr. Barrett has also appeared in administrative matters before the New Jersey Division of Civil Rights, the New Jersey Department of Labor and the EEOC. He has handled numerous Arbitration matters, and has served as an Arbitrator for the New Jersey Superior Court.
Education:
Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania in 1978.
Juris Doctorate, with honors, from Rutgers University School of Law in 1982.
Judicial Clerkship with the Hon. H. Hurlburt Tomlin, Judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey, 1982-1983.

Admitted to practice In New Jersey and Pennsylvania state and federal courts since 1983.
Admitted to practice in the Third Circuit Court of Appeals since 1987.
Admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court since 1988.
Member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, the Harmonie Group, the New Jersey Defense Association, the American Bar Association, the New Jersey Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Camden County Bar Association.
Speaking Engagements and Presentations:
Mr. Barrett has given presentations to clients, insurers and industry groups on matters relating to employment civil rights claims, construction defects and insurance.
